With its fantastic restaurant scene, Folkestone has long been a destination for foodies and visitors alike. From cosy pubs and independent eateries to restaurants serving up delicious dishes, there’s plenty to tempt your taste buds.

And now, there’s even more reason to visit! Folkestone is hosting its very own Restaurant Week from 9th–13th November, giving you the perfect excuse to explore the town’s food scene.

With over 30 of Folkestone’s most popular restaurants taking part, you can enjoy two courses for just Ā£20.26.

There’s a real variety of restaurants taking part, from small plates and great wine at Pomus to seafood and sea views at Rocksalt, locally brewed beer and pizza at Brewing Brothers, and great cocktails and fried chicken at Roni & Rita’s.

I visited two of the participating restaurants to see what’s on offer.

The Pullman

I started at The Pullman, a super-cosy pub and restaurant serving up traditional pub food, including a selection of handmade pies, burgers and more.

It was a blustery, wet evening when we arrived, so the crackling fire was a very welcome sight. With hops hanging from the ceiling, candles flickering on the table and our seats by the window, it was the perfect spot for a cosy evening, a hearty meal and a glass of red wine.

The staff were friendly, the portions were generous and everything was cooked beautifully. Despite being pretty full, we even managed to squeeze in dessert!

Little Rock

My second stop was Little Rock, this time for lunch. Sitting right on the beach in a pink shipping container, it has to be one of Folkestone’s prettiest restaurants, with a great reputation for delicious seafood.

It was another drizzly day, but there was something lovely about sitting inside, watching the rain run down the windows while looking out towards the beach.

The Restaurant Week menu might be small, but it’s certainly tempting, with fresh seafood dishes including mussels and curry made with locally caught fish, alongside vegetarian options.

If you love seafood, Little Rock is definitely one to add to your list. Its beachside location makes it feel like a real treat, even on a grey November day.

Folkestone Restaurant Week is the perfect excuse to enjoy a midweek meal without spending a fortune, while discovering some of the brilliant places the town has to offer. With over 30 restaurants taking part and two courses for just Ā£20.26, it’s a great opportunity to try somewhere new or revisit an old favourite.

Folkestone Restaurant Week runs from 9th–13th November. For the full list of participating restaurants and to find out more, head to Folkestone & Hythe Restaurant Week.
